Gold worth Rs.23.12 lakh seized from baggage that arrived on a flight from Sharjah at Trichy airport, Customs officials said on Monday.

In a statement issued here, the Commissioner of Customs, Tiruchirappalli International Airport, said that 463 grams of gold of 24 karat purity worth Rs 23.12 lakhs was seized from baggage that arrived on a flight from Sharjah at Trichy airport. The consignee was arrested under the Customs Act, 1962: Air Intelligence Unit, Trichy.
