GO issued for new Corporation formation in Kumbakonam

The State issued a GO for upgrading Kumbakonam municipality into Kumbakonam Municipal Corporation on Friday.

According to the GO, Darasuram town panchayat and 13 panchayats would be merged with the existing Kumbakonam municipality to upgrade it into Kumbakonam corporation. Based on the inclusions, wards will be divided for the next election.
