Puducherry: As part of the government efforts to boost tourism in the Union Territory, the five-day ‘Beach Festival’ will begin here on Wednesday evening.
Lt Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan along with Chief Minister N Rangasamy and his Cabinet Colleagues will inaugurate the festival at 6.30 pm tomorrow.
Several programmes, including seafood festival, cycle marathon, sand art exhibition and musical feast, among others were organised as part of the in the festival which will last till April 16.
Since, a large number of people from Puducherry and other parts of the country are expected to arrive, the Police Department imposed traffic restrictions in the White Town area for all the five days.
