Festival lights up with TN govt bonus to TASMAC employees

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government sanctioned a bonus to the employees of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac), who were working in the liquor outlets across the State.

Accordingly, the Tasmac employees, who are in the C and D group, will receive a maximum bonus amount of Rs 16,800 for this Diwali festival. A Tasmac order here said that the bonus payable for the year 2023-2024 is 20% of the pay earned during the same period subject to a salary ceiling of Rs 7,000 per month.

The apprentices and trainees of Tasmac will not be entitled for the bonus. The bonus amount will be to the employees in the corporate office. As of March 2024, there were 6,581 supervisors, 14,775 salesmen and 2,630 assistant salesmen (23,986 in total) employed in liquor shops across the State.
