TIRUCHY: A farmer sustained multiple injuries after an unidentified gang shot him with country-made rifles in Karur in the wee hours of Saturday, while the police secured a few persons for interrogation.
Karunagiri (48), a farmer from Valayapatti village near Sevappur in Karur who has been residing in his farmhouse, was returning home in the late hours of Friday. When he was passing through a pathway to his house, an unidentified gang opened fire and shot him multiple times and fled.
Karunagiri sustained multiple injuries and raised an alarm. Soon, his relatives rushed to the spot and rescued him and rushed him to the Dindigul GH. On information, the Kadavur police rushed to the spot and collected around 10 pellets and conducted inquiries.
The police registered a case and secured a few of Karunagiri's relatives, who were in dispute over a property.
