Fake Twitter account in Stalin name: DMK

The DMK organising secretary RS Bharathi lodged a complaint with the city police demanding action against miscreants who had created a fake twitter account supporting a YouTube channel which had recently released controversial video critical of a Hindu devotional song.

Referring to the Twitter handle created on July 17, Bharathi said the contents of the tweet were made in a page which was a look alike of the Twitter page of MK Stalin. “The DMK party has made it clear it is not approving any activity of the said ‘KarrupurKoottam,” which is demeaning or insulting the religious sentiments of the people,” the complaint said, adding that the offender has accessed and created fake ID of Stalin, through a computer resource, he is punishable under section 66 of the Information Technology Act 2000.
