VANIYAMBADI: Tirupattur collector Amar Kuswaha’s sudden inspection of the Vaniyambadi sericulture office resulted in his issuing orders seeking an explanation from the facility’s AD (assistant director) on Thursday. Kuswaha who was reviewing and inspecting various government programmes made a surprise visit to the AD’s office in Vaniyambadi’s Konamedu area. Inspection of the attendance registers and records revealed that while AD Chennakesavan had signed the attendance register for the day (Thursday) he was not physically present. The AD’s subordinates were taken aback by the collector’s sudden visit were unable to offer a plausible explanation for their superior’s absence resulting in the collector ordering issuance of a notice seeking an explanation as to why departmental action should not be taken against him. The collector then left the premises after ordering immediate action on the issue.
