Expect wet spell in Chennai, some districts in next 48 hrs: Weatherman

The Regional Metrological Centre (RMC) on Monday said that the city will get rainfall in the next 48 hours besides moderate rainfall in a few districts for the next 24 hours.

“Southwest monsoon will bring light to moderate rainfall to Coimbatore, The Nilgiris, Theni and Tiruvarur districts in the next 24 hours.

As far as Chennai is considered, some parts would receive light rainfall in the next 48 hours. However, other districts in Tamil Nadu would witness dry and hot weather for the next 24 hours,” said N Puviarasan, Director of Regional Metrological Center.

The official added that the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 38 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius respectively. Also, for the next 48 hours, the temperature would be the same.

“Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, the chief amount of rainfall recorded at various districts in Tamil Nadu were 3 cm at Coimbatore and 2 cm at The Nilgiris,” said Puviarasan.
