TIRUCHY: The Crime Branch CID, Tamil Nadu arrested former AIADMK minister MR Vijayabhaskar's brother MR Sekar and his associate Selvaraj on Monday. They were absconding for over three months.

The ex-minister, Sekar, Selvaraj from Thottakurichy, and four others are allegedly involved in a 22-acre land grab case in Karur. The property is worth Rs 100 crore. The complaint was lodged by Prakash, a businessman from Kuppichipalayam.

Previously, the Karur district court had granted conditional bail to the former minister, who was arrested in the case.

Despite Sekar and Selvaraj appealing for anticipatory bail in the Madras High Court, terming the case a 'political vendetta' against them, the bail plea was dismissed and the police were searching for the duo for more than three months.
