EPS will decide on school reopening, says Sengottaiyan

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami would take a decision on re-opening of schools in the state in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, said School Education Minister KA Sengottaiyan on Wednesday.

The Minister informed that the government is yet to decide on reopening of schools, while taking part in a function at Chithode near here on the occasion of Tamil Maanila Congress founder GK Moopanar’s birth anniversary.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Palaniswami announced a solaitum of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of tea estate workers from Tamil Nadu, who were killed in the Munnar landslide on August 6. In a statement here, he announced that families of all the victims, who were natives of Tamil Nadu, would be given a solatium of Rs 3 lakh, while Rs 1 lakh each would be given to all those injured from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.
