CHENNAI: State BJP president K Annamalai, TVK president Vijay and other leaders on Sunday wished the former chief minister and the general secretary of AIADMK Edappadi K Palaniswami on his birthday.

"Happy birthday to former chief minister of Tamil Nadu and general secretary of AIADMK Edappadi K Palaniswami. I pray for EPS to continue his work for the people with good health and long life, " Annamalai said in a social media post.

It may be recalled that, after severing ties with the AIADMK in last September, Annamalai started questioning the leadership quality of Edappadi K Palaniswami and the presence of AIADMK in the future and heavily criticised the EPS-led AIADMK during the Lok Sabha poll campaigns.

Subsequently, other BJP leaders including H Raja, Vinoj P Selvam also conveyed their wishes to their former friend Edappadi K Palaniswami.

In his message, veteran BJP leader and former MLA H Raja said, "I wish Edappadi K Palaniswami, former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, a very happy birthday. I pray to god for his good health and life."

Vijay, the popular Kollywood actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president also wished former CM.

"Happy birthday to the AIADMK general secretary and Leader of Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami, " Vijay said in a social media post.
