In a statement, Vaiko welcomed the Madras High Court for ordering the probe by CBI to bring out the truth. The court has dismissed the clean chit given by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption. Further, it is a fact that the Chief Minister has given contracts misusing his power allocating projects worth Rs 3,120 crore to his relatives and benamies, Vaiko alleged.

The statement also attacked the AIADMK government and its council of ministers for their periodic nexus with contractors and quoted the recent I-T and CBI raids conducted by the Centre against AIADMK Ministers.

Corruption and scams seem to be routine of ministers and there were media reports stating more than Rs 180 crore was seized during the July I-T raids, under these circumstances to ensure a free and fair investigation, Palaniswami should step down, Vaiko urged.
