e-pass mandatory to book Tamil Nadu flights: GO

The State government issued a GO making e-pass mandatory for domestic air passengers travelling to and within Tamil Nadu

migrator

Chennai

Passengers have to get an e-pass before boarding the aircraft,” said Chief Secretary K Shanmugam, in the GO. However, the order does not apply for passengers coming to Tamil Nadu from abroad.

After the Centre issued permission for resumption of flights, State issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for aircrafts and airports to follow. A few of the SOPs – for passengers except those undertaking business trips and scheduled to return within 48 hours, quarantine is not mandatory. For others, despite testing negative for COVID-19, they have to be home quarantined for seven days and should self-monitor their health for another seven days.

For passengers undertaking air travel to Tamil Nadu from Delhi, Maharashtra and Gujarat, RT-PCR tests are compulsory. For international passengers coming to TN, paid institutional quarantine is compulsory for seven days and RT-PCR tests will be conducted twice.
