CHENNAI: Noticing a few private and matriculation schools conducting classes during the current summer vacation, the school education department has issued warning to schools of stern action.
The circular from the education department has noted that they have received several complaints that a few city private and matriculation schools have been conducting special classes to students, especially for students in higher secondary classes.
But, the schools were closed for summer vacation for all Tamil Nadu schools from April 24. However, the reopening date has still not been announced, citing the general election results scheduled on June 4.
The Directorate of Matriculation Schools and elementary education in a notification has pointed out about private and matriculation schools holding special classes and if continued the department will proceed with stern action.
"Even after the TN government has declared summer vacation for all schools, there are continuous complaints about conducting special classes in various schools. We request the school principals and teachers under their jurisdiction to advise that special classes should not be conducted compulsorily during this period of intense heat and while schools are closed, "the circular stated.
And the department assured action against the schools that conduct special classes for violating rules.
Meanwhile, the higher officials of the department have clarified that a poster calling-in for computer teachers for government schools with five-year experiences, has been noted to be fake.
The officials confirmed that they have not made any such requests, and such posts will only be filled through the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB).
