Maximum temperature to rise by 2-3 degree Celsius in TN

CHENNAI: Though a dense fog prevailed over isolated places in Tamil Nadu including Chennai, the meteorological department has forecast that the maximum temperature is likely to increase by 2-3 degree Celsius than normal in the coming days. And, it’s likely to record slightly above normal until next week in TN.

As light to moderate easterlies/northeasterlies prevail over the region in the lower tropospheric levels, shallow fog/mist is likely to prevail in the morning at isolated pockets of TN including Chennai for the next two days.

On Saturday, moderate to dense fog was observed over Chennai and its suburbs from 7.30 am to 8.30 am.

On the other hand, dry weather will prevail in Tamil Nadu and the maximum temperature is likely to be near normal to slightly above normal till next week. The temperature level is expected to surge by 2-3 degree Celsius than normal, and would hover around 28-34 degree Celsius over coastal areas, adjoining interior districts and plain areas in TN.

Similarly, the minimum temperature is also likely to be slightly above normal over most parts of TN, and likely to be in the range of 20-24 degree Celsius over coastal and adjoining interior districts. The rest of TN might record around 16-20 degree Celsius till Thursday (Feb 13).
