Dog kills snake to save master’s family, dies

Sources said Jayanth and his family members residing at Kurinjipatti near Illuppur in Pudukkottai were having a pet country dog.

TIRUCHY: In a poignant incident, a country dog, that rescued its master’s family from a snake, died after killing the reptile in a brief fight in Pudukkottai late on Sunday night.

Sources said Jayanth and his family members residing at Kurinjipatti near Illuppur in Pudukkottai were having a pet country dog. On Sunday night, family members woke up from their sleep after hearing unusual noise outside. When the inmates rushed out to check, they were shocked to see their dog fighting a cobra that was trying to enter the house. During the fight, both the dog and the snake died.

Moved by dog’s death, Jayanth and his family gave a tearful send off to their pet. They buried the dog near their house with a floral tribute.

They also updated the activities on social media and displayed a poster expressing their condolences to their pet that saved all their lives.
