Doc ‘demeaned’ by L-G Bedi admitted to ICU

A senior doctor, who was allegedly demeaned by Lt Governor Kiran Bedi during her visit to COVID-19 Control Room here on Sunday last, fell ill and was hospitalised.

Health Department Deputy Director Dr Raghunathan was allegedly demeaned by the Lt Governor and the health staff in the Union Territory resorted to agitation for two days. Meanwhile, Dr Raghunathan fell ill and was admitted to the ICU in government general hospital here.

It may be noted that Lt Governor on Tuesday night clarified that she only mentored and guided the senior doctor. Meanwhile, as many as 124 persons tested positive for coronavirus and a patient died during the last 24 hours in the Union Territory.

With the new cases reported, the total number of active cases has risen to 900, according to a release by Puducherry Health Department.
