“Like offering chocolates to children to lure them, DMK is offering party positions to newly-joined members of other parties. Though it is functioning with the intention of luring more politicians from AMMK and AIADMK, the AIADMK cadre will not join DMK,” said Jayakumar while addressing the media in the backdrop of AMMK Pudukkottai district Secretary Bharani Karthikeyan joining DMK. Earlier, Aravakurichi MLA Senthil Balaji and former MLA Thanga Tamilselvan joined the principal opposition party, deserting AMMK floated by TTV Dhinakaran.

When Jayakumar was questioned about more men joining DMK, he replied, “Though DMK may think that it is a whale and wait with its mouth wide open to swallow AIADMK, our cadre are not ordinary fish, but eel which would escape from whale and make it suffer,” said Jayakumar.

He also said that AIADMK cadre have policy framed by former Chief Ministers, MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa. Those who have imbibed the policy will only be in AIADMK and the dreams of DMK President MK Stalin will not be realised, he added.

He further said that the visit of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has already started to create impact in the State and once his visit is over, investments will pour into the State.
