Disqualified MLA Danavelou to move court for justice

Disqualified Congress legislator N Danavelou on Saturday said that he will move the court to get justice.

Danavelou told news persons that his disqualification was an expected one but not thought at this point of time. He said that he was informed that his disqualification was under the ‘Anti-Defection Act’ and added he did not defect to any other party. “I raised my voice against the corruption and for the welfare of the people of my Bahour constituency”, Danavelou said.

A demand to upgrade the Bahour Primary Health Centre was put forth to the government. But no action was taken and in January last and one died due to the lack of medicines there, he said, adding that, following this, only he led an agitation against the Congress-DMK government. Puducherry Assembly Speaker VP Sivakolunthu had disqualified Danavelou under the ‘Anti-Defection Act” on Friday evening. Meanwhile, tension prevailed in Bahour Assembly constituency when the supporters of Danavelou led by his son Ashok Shinde took out a procession shouting slogans against Chief Minister V Narayanasamy and Minister Kandasamy. The protesters were later arrested.
