CHENNAI: CITU has urged the State government to direct the public sector companies like Tangedco, State Transport Undertakings and Aavin to hold negotiations with the trade unions for providing the bonus.

In a statement, CITU state president A Soundara Rajan, and general secretary G Sugumaran said that the trade unions functioning in the public sector undertakings of the government have given petitions to the concerned department seeking to hold bonus talks for 2021-22.

“With Deepavali falling on October 24, the management of the PSUs have not invited the trade unions for talks,” they complained.

They urged the government to direct the PSUs to hold negotiations with the trade union representatives in this regard. Similarly, the labour department should intervene and find solutions in the private industries where the trade unions have raised bonus demands.
