CHENNAI: Actor Rajinikanth responded as if he was unaware of the Tiruvannamalai landslide tragedy, which led to deaths of 7 people when media asked him questions at Chennai airport. He was about to fly to Jaipur for film Coolie’s shooting.

Rajini responded, “Oh my god. Is it so? I am very sorry,” before moving away. It wasn’t clear what he meant, but it was perceived as if he felt sorry. But the tone appeared that he did not know about the tragedy.

The actor's comments gain significance as he is spiritually connected to Arunachaleswarar temple.

He then said that he was travelling to Jaipur for the next phase of Coolie’s shoot and added that there were no immediate plans for future films.
