CPM State secretary recovers, discharged

After undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, CPM State secretary K Balakrishnan recovered from the infection and was discharged on Monday after testing negative.

Balakrishnan was admitted to the government hospital on October 12 after testing positive. “I am happy to announce that I have returned home today after recovering from coronavirus infection. I was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai on the 12th,” he wrote in a social media post. He expressed gratitude to everyone, including the dean, doctors, nurses and medical staff of the hospital who treated him with utmost care. He also thanked all those including the Health Minister, Health Secretary, DMK president MK Stalin and other party leaders who enquired about his health.
