Covid cases drop below 300 in TN

A total of 353 more people recovered, and the total recoveries from COVID-19 reached 35,45,820. With no more deaths due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the death toll stood at 38,048.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu COVID-19 cases dropped below 300 with 296 cases were reported on Thursday. The total number of cases of COVID-19 in the State reached 35,88,157. Fresh cases in Chennai stood at 74, while 20 cases each were recorded in Chengalpattu and Coimbatore. The test positivity rate (TPR) in Tamil Nadu stood at 2.4 per cent, after 11,479 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. The highest TPR of 6.4 was reported in Ranipet. Meanwhile, the active cases of COVID-19 in the State stood at 4,289, with the highest number of active cases in Chennai which has 2,199 active cases.
