COVID 19: TN records 5,584 new COVID cases while 6,516 recovered

The COVID recovery cases exceeded the new infections as on September 9, in Tamil Nadu. Chennai continued to see a downward trend with 993 cases reported.

As many as 5,584 people tested positive for coronavirus in Tamil Nadu over the past 24 hours, the State Health Department on Wednesday, increasing the COVID infections toll in the state to 4,80,524.

In the last 24 hours, 78 people succumbed to COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu on Saturday pushing the death toll in the state to 8,090.

According to the bulletin released by the health department, as many as 6,516 were recovered and discharged today.

While the state capital, Chennai recorded a total of 993 new cases, the other districts reported 4,591 cases.
