Counselling process for engineering admission kicks off

After considerable delay, the online counselling for students seeking engineering admission commenced on Thursday, starting with the special reservation category. In all, 2,412 candidates from differently abled, eminent sportspersons and ex-servicemen categories would take part in the process.

Officials from the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), which is conducting the admission process for engineering courses, said about 150 differently abled candidates were listed according to their rank-wise.

Similarly, students from ex-servicemen quota who secured the first 853 ranks would participate in the special reservation category counselling that is scheduled from Thursday till October 6. Candidates from the eminent sportsperson category who secured the first 1,409 ranks would attend the counselling process.

After the counselling sessions for the candidates from the special category, the tentative allotment would be done on October 5. The directorate would release the provisional allotment to these students according to their choice next day.
