Corbevax administered as booster dose in Tamil Nadu

In the State, around 95.95 per cent eligible persons took the first dose Covid vaccine and 89.41 per cent persons took second doses.

CHENNAI: State Health Minister Ma Subramanian said that citizens above 18 years of age, who have taken two doses of Covaxin and Covishield, can take Corbevax for booster dose.

Subramanian, on Friday, inaugurated the administration of Corbevax as a booster dose in an event held in the city. "Booster doses are being administered to persons above 60 years of age, health workers and frontline workers at free of cost in the government centres. For the persons between 18 and 59 years of age, booster doses are given in private hospitals by collecting charges," he said.

He added that on the occasion of Independence Day, booster doses are being given to all the persons above 18 years of age at free of cost between July 15 and September 30. Citizens can also take Covaxin and Covishield as booster doses.
