Arun, the constable attached to the Ambur taluk police station was on his rounds in Madanur when he noticed two persons identified as Siva Kumar and Suresh drinking in the open on Wednesday evening. When questioned, the duo started attacking the constable with their fists. Seeing this altercation, local residents informed the police station and a team from the station rushed to Madanur and arrested the duo. At the same time, annoyed at Arun for not informing his superiors, Tirupattur SP P Vijayakumar ordered his shifting to the AR with immediate effect.
