College student washed away in Kumbakonam

TIRUCHY: A college student was washed away near Kumbakonam while taking a bath at a check dam on Tuesday. The body was recovered late in the evening.

B Harish (19), a second-year student of a private arts and science college in Kumbakonam, went to take bath in the check dam of Arasalaru along with friends.

The friends had reportedly consumed alcohol before taking a bath.

While bathing, Harish slipped and fell before being washed away. Soon, they passed on the information to the fire and rescue personnel.
