“Helicopters will shower flowers over ESI Hospital and Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) as a mark of gratitude to COVID-19 warriors. Also, helicopter rides will be available for public to experience the skyline of Coimbatore,” said Jayaprashanth Jayachandran, co-chair of Young Indians (YI).

The 13th edition of the ‘vizha,’ organized by Young Indians (YI) is to be held virtually till January 10 and has over 100 events spread over in the next nine days. All the events lined up to celebrate the strength; uniqueness and culture of Coimbatore have been redesigned. As part of the vizha hashtags #CelebrateCoimbatore, and #CoimbatoreVizha were used to reach out. Local Administration Minister SP Velumani and Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar are expected to participate in the inaugural. The ‘vizha’ has been lined up with a series of exciting events to promote art, culture and education, besides entertainment, travel, heritage and technology. In the marathon event, the participants can run a distance at any time of their convenience and record it on a running app for certificate.

At ‘Gift a Device,’ the public are encouraged to give their unused phones and laptops to be handed over to under-privileged students.
