CHENNAI: Chief Minister M K Stalin took time off to watch filmmaker Mari Selvaraj’s latest flick “Vaazhai” amid his hectic trip wooing investors in the United States.

Taking to social media to laud Mari Selvaraj’s movie, Stalin said, “I watched ‘Vaazhai’ in San Francisco. A movie based on true events, Vaazhai reflects the lives and pain of the working-class people. When Sivanaindhan (the lead character) suffers from hunger, Mari pierces our hearts through the depiction of a thousand banana bunches. I derived happiness when I designed the Chief Minister’s breakfast scheme to prevent any Sivanaindhan from suffering such hunger.”

Congratulating Mari Selvaraj for his continued success, the Chief Minister said, “Let us continue the journey towards change with the hope that time will heal the wounds.” Earlier, the CM posted a video of him travelling in a driverless car on the streets of the United States. Stalin posted the message with a quote from Thanthai Periyar where he celebrated modernity as part of the progress of mankind, moving away from the past weighing them down.
