CM Stalin honours best weavers, exporters of Tamil Nadu

The Chief Minister gave away cheques for Rs 20 lakh and certificates of appreciation to the five awardees.

CHENNAI: Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday presented State-level awards to the best handloom weavers for silk and cotton, besides best handloom exporters for the year 2024-25.

The first prize for the best handloom weaver award for silk was awarded to MR Gopinathan of Arani Silk Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society. The second prize was given to members of Thirubuvanam and Kanchipuram Anna Silk Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society, represented by V Rajalakshmi and P Gowri. The third prize went to members of Thirubuvanam and Tirupur Silk Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society.

The Chief Minister gave away cheques for Rs 20 lakh and certificates of appreciation to the five awardees.

Minister R Gandhi and Chief Secretary N Muruganandam were present at the event.
