Class 11 girl dies in two-wheeler collision in Kanniyakumari

KANNIYAKUMARI: A Class 11 girl died after a two-wheeler accident near Thuckalay in Kanniyakumari district on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Archana (16), is the third daughter of Jeyan, of Maranagonam Mannedutha Vilai near Mekkamandapam close to Thuckalay, who is currently residing at Panavilai near Manali in Thuckalay.

Archana, who was studying at a school in Thuckalay, went to Nagercoil on a motorcycle and was returning towards Thuckalay on the night of March 30.

When her motorcycle reached Vellachivilai near Villukuri, another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction collided with her vehicle.

As a result, Archana was thrown off and sustained a severe injury to the back of her head. Nearby residents rescued her and sent her by ambulance to Asaripallam Government Medical College Hospital. Doctors who examined her said she had already died.

Her brother Adithya (20) lodged a complaint with Eraniel police. Based on the complaint, police registered a case against Retheesh (21) of Melapallam near Villukuri and are investigating.
