Chennai RMC forecasts moderate rain in 30 districts of Tamil Nadu

According to the bulletin, moderate rain is likely in Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, and Ramanathapuram districts.

CHENNAI: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has forecast rainfall across 30 districts of Tamil Nadu on Friday (September 19).

According to the bulletin, moderate rain is likely in Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, and Ramanathapuram districts.

Light to moderate rain is expected in Salem, Sivagangai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Tiruchi, Villupuram, Madurai, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar, Krishnagiri, Erode, Dharmapuri, Namakkal, and Tirupattur districts.

In addition, light showers may occur in Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Theni, and Tirunelveli districts.

The Meteorological Department stated that an upper air circulation prevailing over parts of Tamil Nadu, which could bring light to moderate rainfall at many places across the State, including Puducherry and Karaikal. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at a speed of 30–40 kmph are also likely in some areas.
