Southern Railway announces diversion, regulation of express trains

The schedules of several trains are subject to change following the revision in public timetable with effect from January 1

CHENNAI: Southern Railway announced diversions and regulation of several express trains.

Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore Express (Train No 16128) on January 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, and 27 will be diverted to run via Kottayam skipping stoppages at Ernakulam Junction, Cherthala, Alappuzha and Haripad. Additional stoppages will be provided at Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, and Chengannur.

Dr MGR Chennai Central–Thiruvananthapuram Central AC Superfast Express (Train No 22207) on January 9 and16 will be diverted to run via Kottyam skipping stoppages at Ernakulam Junction and Alappuzha. Additional stoppages will be provided at Ernakulam Town, Kottayam and Chengannur.

Chennai Egmore–Guruvayur Express (Train No 16127) will be regulated for 30 minutes en route on January 3 and 10; for 90 minutes on January 5, 7, 14; for 110 minutes on January 8 and 12; for 60 minutes on January 9 and 13; for 20 minutes on January 16; and for 2.15 hours on January 20,23, and 26.

The schedules of several trains are subject to change following the revision in public timetable with effect from January 1. Passengers are requested to check Railways' official website/app - NTES or IRCTC for revised schedules of trains before commencing their journey, said a release.
