CB-CID takes over activist Mugilan case

With the case of the missing activist gathering storm each passing day, the State police chief transferred the probe to CB-CID, orders for which was issued on Monday.

Activist RS Mugilan, who was part of environmental protests against Koodankulam nuclear project, river sand and beach sand mining, and also Sterlite Copper, went missing from Chennai 10 days ago.

On February 15, Mugilan had released a documentary on Sterlite agitation, which charged the cops of deliberately planning the shooting that killed 13 protesters. He went missing from Egmore railway station on the same day.


The Railway police, which initially probed the case, said he was at the station but had not gotten into any train.
