Buses collide head on in Pamban bridge accident; 8 injured

Eight people were seriously injured in a head-on collision of a government bus and a private bus at Pamban Bridge.

CHENNAI: A government bus and a private bus that came to Rameswaram Pamban Bridge collided head-on and met with an accident. Subsequently, the private bus crashed into the wall of the bridge, preventing major loss of life.

The public and motorists rushed to rescue the people trapped in the 2 buses and sent them to the hospital for treatment by ambulance. While many survived with minor injuries, eight others with serious injuries are being treated in hospital.

The police reached the spot and investigated the accident. Also, the 2 buses involved in the accident were removed from the road and traffic was restored. The accident turned Pamban bridge chaotic. The police have registered a case and are investigating the accident.
