Birth Anniv of Dr Sivanthi Aditanar to be observed as govt function

The Minister for Information and Publicity, Kadambur Raju, on Monday, announced that the birth anniversary of the former Director of The Daily Thanthi Dr B Sivanthi Aditanar will be observed as a government function

“Birth anniversary of Dr B Sivanthi Aditanar which falls on September 24 will be observed as government function in Tiruchendur, Thoothukudi district.”, said Minister, while making his announcements. 

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, on February 22, this year, inaugurated the memorial of Dr B Sivanthi Aditanar constructed in Tiruchendur, at a cost of Rs 1.34 crore. The memorial constructed in 60 cents has the life size bronze statue of Dr B Sivanthi Aditanar and a library. 


The Minister also said that the birth anniversaries of Swami Sagajananda, on January 27, Ramasamy Padayatchiyar, on September 16, Pattukottai Azhagirisamy, on June 23, and Narayanasamy Naidu, on February 6, would also be celebrated as government functions.

The Minister further announced that the house of former Chief Minister K Kamaraj in T Nagar would be renovated at a cost of Rs 7 lakh.
