Bhavanisagar dam shutters to be opened on Aug 14

Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy has announced that Bhavanisagar dam will be opened for irrigation purposes.

The 101.10 feet water containing dam will be opened on August 14 for 120 days.

Farmers of Erode, Tiruppur and Karur districts will be the beneficiaries of this step.

He said 23,846,40 cubic feet of water released will facilitate irrigation for upto 1,03,500 acres of pastures.
