A statement issued by the party headquarters said that the Virudhunagar party district secretary Rajenthra Bhalaji is relieved from the party post with immediate effect. However, no reasons were attributed to the move.

According to AIADMK insiders, there was a brewing rivalry between two Ministers and the Virudhunagar strongman was upset with a Minister controlling the MLAs in his native district, this resulted in a series of complaint to the party high command costing the party post of Dairy Minister.
