Bedi visits police stations during morning rounds

Lt Governor Kiran Bedi along with team Raj Nivas as part of her 239th week-end morning round visited police stations on Saturday.

The Lt Governor in a WhatsApp message said that the visit to police station is to check police beat system and more, in the presence of the Director General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police.

The objective is to evaluate that the rank and file understand the correct methodology of police beat system for crime prevention, she added.

She said the cops of police stations participated in making a standard operative programme for their beat system.

It shall lead to the overhauling of the beat policing, she said, adding that in Puducherry every police officer shall have an area responsibility and be an integral part of morning 8am briefings and 5pm debriefing roll call.

With close implementation of the standard operating programme of beat police system the UT be more closely served and collaborated with residents and community at large.

Overall crime will fall and criminal elements shall be on the run to be mended too, the Lt Governor said.
