TIRUCHY: Pudukkottai court on Tuesday issued bail to three accused in the sensational Vengaivayal case, after they were accused of mixing human excreta in the overhead tank meant for a Dalit residential colony, in which they also are living.

The CB-CID sleuths filed a charge sheet against three persons, J Muraliraja, K Muthukrishnan and B Sudarshan, fellow Dalits from the same village, for the offence. CB-CID cops have blamed personal motive for the dastardly act. Subsequently, the case was transferred to the judicial magistrate court from the special court appointed for hearing atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) community, as the charges were made against people from the same community.

The judicial magistrate court-2, which is hearing the case, summoned the accused to be present before the court on March 11 (Tuesday).

All three accused were produced before the designated court, and the judge (in charge) D Poornima, who heard the case, ordered bail for all three accused with the surety of two persons each without any conditions.

The judge also asked the three to appear before the same court on Wednesday for receiving the copy of the charge sheet.
