Ariyalur man murders brother, arrested

K Muruganandam (38), a resident of Poondi near Keezhapazhuvur in Ariyalur was working in a private firm in Samayapuram in Tiruchy while his younger brother Ramesh (32) was working at a lathe in Keezhapazhuvur.

Tiruchy: A man was arrested on charges of murdering his brother over a family dispute in Ariyalur on Tuesday.

K Muruganandam (38), a resident of Poondi near Keezhapazhuvur in Ariyalur was working in a private firm in Samayapuram in Tiruchy while his younger brother Ramesh (32) was working at a lathe in Keezhapazhuvur.

On Monday night, Ramesh, who came to the house and picked up a quarrel with his sister-in-law under the influence of alcohol and his brother intervened.

The fight turned violent. Suddenly, Muruganandam in a fit of rage, took a wooden log and attacked Ramesh in which he died on the spot after heavy blood loss due to the head injury.

On information, Keezhapazhuvur police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body and sent it to the Ariyalur GH. On Tuesday, the police arrested Muruganandam. Further i
