CHENNAI: PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss on Wednesday urged the State government to announce Deepavali bonus and advance amount for government corporations such as Transport Corporations and Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (Tangedco) after discussing with the trade unions.

Taking to Twitter, Anbumani said: "There are only 11 days left for Deepavali and so far the State government has not held talks with the trade unions despite repeated petitions submitted by Pattali Trade Union and other trade unions. State government should not announce bonus and advance amount for Deepavali without holding talks with the trade unions."

He also said that the State government should understand the importance of Deepavali bonus as the amount will be helpful for the government corporation workers to purchase new clothes and crackers.

"The government should hold talks with workers unions and should announce a minimum of 25 percent bonus and advance amount for Deepavali," added Anbumani.
