Speaking to the media in the Melur Cooperative Bank in Thoothukudi on Thursday, he said while the party in Kanniyakumari district, for which Thalavai Sundaram is the in-charge, and its neighbouring Tirunelveli district has come to a naught, Thoothukudi is seeing the influence of Kadambur C Raju, Minister for Information and Publicity, ST Chellapandian, district secretary, and N Chinnadurai, former district panchayat president, allegedly contributing to the party’s decline.

Thoothukudi was the next target for Thalavai Sundaram, who has joined hands with the others, to destroy the AIADMK completely, he said. However, there was no doubt that Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had been working in tandem with Panneerselvam to take the party forward. But, the high command was only concerned about delivering good governance and seldom bothered about the progress of the party, he claimed. 

DMK, the main opposition party was making false accusations against the AIADMK intentionally to bring disrepute to the party, Shunmuganathan said. The AIADMK could never be destroyed by anyone, if the party high command paid attention to its prosperity.
