TIRUVANNAMALAI: Collector B Murugesh said, “Restrictions were imposed on the girivalam for the last two years due to the pandemic. Now that the state government has withdrawn the restrictions, the town will witness this spectacle from 2.33 am on Saturday to 1.16 am the next day when around 25 lakh are expected to descend on the town.”

While local devotees are happy about the permission for girivalam, officials said that efforts are made to ensure a hassle-free experience for visitors.
