Actor Rajinikanth rushed to Chennai hospital; condition stable, say doctors

CHENNAI: The health condition of Superstar Rajinikanth is stable, said doctors at Apollo Hospital on Greams Road here.

The actor was rushed to the hospital late on Monday night after falling ill while shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie. He had complained of severe stomach pain, according to an alert from Thanthi TV.

A case of abdominal aneurysm is suspected, sources said.

However, sources also added that an elective cardiac procedure was likely to be on the actor at the cath lab of the hospital on Tuesday morning.

However, stating that his health was now stable, doctors at Apollo said medical investigations were under way.

In December 2020, Rajinikanth had undergone a similar health checkup.

Meanwhile, the actor's film, Vettaiyan, directed by Jai Bhim-fame TJ Gnanavel, is all set for release on October 10.
