VELLORE: Pocso Court jailed a 76-year-old man to 23 years in prison for sexually molesting a 13-year-old girl, on Tuesday.

Anwar Basha (76) of Kil Visharam was a seller of Aluminium utensils and he befriended a 13-year-old who lost her father some time ago and sexually molested her due to which she became pregnant and delivered a male child in May last year.

The girl’s mother complained to Ranipet All Women Police who arrested Anwar Basha.

Judge Kalai Ponni sentenced Basha to 20 years in prison and another 3 years for enticing and kidnapping the girl.

The culprit was also fined another Rs10,000.
