TIRUCHY: A 60-year-old man was arrested under POCSO act for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl in Ariyalur on Saturday. Rajendran, a resident from Soorakuzhi near Andimadam in Ariyalur had reportedly called a Class 10 girl from the locality to help him in the house. When the girl went with him, he sexually abused her and threatened her not to tell the incident to the elders which may prompt a group clash. However, the girl who managed to escape him, narrated the incident to her parents who lodged a complaint with Jayankondam All Women police station who registered a case against Rajendran under various IPC sections including Pocso Act and arrested him on Saturday.
