564 kg of ganja seized in Ramnad, 10 held

MADURAI: The Ramanathapuram police arrested 10 individuals in a major drug bust, leading to the seizure of 564 kg of ganja on Wednesday. The Kenikarai police, during routine surveillance, noticed a group of persons roaming suspiciously along the East Coast Road. When the group gave contradictory responses during the inquiry, the police intensified the interrogation.

It came to light that a massive haul of ganja had been concealed near Therku Vani Veethi village. The police then seized 564 kg of ganja, and two cars and four two-wheeler vehicles used by the group.

The arrested people were Vigneshkumar (30) of Manamadurai, Sanjeev (22) of Pudukkottai, Ranjith (30) of Vedhalai, Yogeshwaran (25), Mugeshkannan (22), Prakash (22), Karanraj (23), Hariharan (19) of Mandapam Fishermen Colony, Kumaresan (23) and Balakrishnan (19) of Mandapam Valaiyarvadi.
