4-year-old sexually assaulted in Anganwadi centre in Pudukai; 3 held

60-year-old Kasi, his wife, Annakodi, and the teacher of the anganwadi centre were arrested.

CHENNAI: In a shocking incident in Pudukottai, a four-year-old girl in an anganwadi centre was sexually assaulted by the husband of the centre's caretaker.

On Monday, in an anganwadi centre in Pudukottai's Keeranur, caretaker Annakodi (54) told her husband Kasi (60) to take care of the children while she was out. The sexagenarian taking advantage of the situation sexually assaulted a four-year-old girl.

The girl informed her mother about the distressing incident and she lodged a complaint with the Keeranur police station. Subsequently, inspector Sulaiman filed a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso) and jailed Kasi, Annakodi and the centre's teacher for the offence.
